 HOW ARE POINTS COUNTED?

District 3's 2010 Highpoints Series consists of 11 Events listed on the schedule. Each contestants top 7 scores count for each Highpoints class.  When a contestant attends a race and finishes in the top 8 of a class they will receive Highpoints for that position. Racers with a lower finish than 8th place will receive 8th place points if heat points were earned at that race.  As the season progresses and contestants acquire more than 7 races where they scored, (NOTE You must score points in the event to earn a position for High Points) the lowest counting Highpoints score will be dropped from their total providing the last score acquired is greater than the lowest High-points score counting toward their total.  All ties 3rd place and above must be broken via run off, flip of a coin or as agreed between the racers involved. In the event of a tie below 3rd place at an event, the score for that position will be given to all those who are tied. Examples of Highpoints tie scoring scenario's: Tie for 4th between two racers: both get 169 pts and the next racer gets 6th place 96 pts, 7th gets 72, 8th  and lower gets 54.

Points are awarded as follows:

1st = 400, 2nd = 300, 3rd = 225, 4th = 169, 5th = 127,

6th = 96, 7th = 72, 8th = 54.
