 HOW ARE POINTS COUNTED?

District 3's 2007 Highpoints Series consists of 12 Events , 1 per month, as listed on the schedule. Each contestants top 7 scores count for each Highpoints class. When a contestant attends a race and finishes in the top 9 of a class they will recieve Highpoints for that posistion. As the season progresses and contestants aquire more than 7 races where they scored in the top 9, (NOTE You must score points in the event to earn a posistion for High Points) the lowest counting Highpoints score will be dropped from their total providing the last score aquired is greater than the lowest Highpoints score counting toward their total.  All ties 3rd place and above must be broken via run off, flip of a coin or as agreed between the racers involved. In the event of a tie below 3rd place at an event the score for that position will be given to all those who are tied. Examples of Highpoints tie scoring senario's: Tie for 4th between two racers: both get 169 pts and the next racer gets 6th place 96 pts 7th gets 72 8th gets 54 and 9th gets 40. Tie for 6th between 5 racers which would be 10 places total: all get 96 pts.

Points are awarded as follows:

1st = 400, 2nd = 300, 3rd = 225, 4th = 169, 5th = 127,

6th = 96, 7th = 72, 8th = 54, 9th = 40.
